Gary Neville
I watched the Arsenal City game today and the way he spoke about some of the Arsenal players i thought was pretty low to put it mildly. Calling players repeatably disgusting is pretty low especially when he is an ex pro himself. Yes i know he is a pundit and there to drum up reaction etc but there surely is a line you don't cross. Before long he will come across one of the players he does this to and when he gets a slap he'll wonder why while i laugh hard.

The likes of Ozil and Ramsey are more likely to burst into tears and shit themselves
A slap?

Re: Gary Neville
He did not hold back... Ha ha ha ha

"It's been bad," he said. "There's 30,000 Arsenal fans to my left. They deserve more. Their team has shown them nothing.

"If you put the defending aside, their football has been bad. Their passing has been bad.

"Look at (Aaron) Ramsey, he's walking. (Granit) Xhaka is walking. (Mesut) Ozil is walking. Don't walk at Wembley, run. Look at Ramsey and Xhaka, ambling, jogging back. Absolute disgrace they are. They're giving up, it's spineless".

"I've not really liked the defending for a long time. I've not really liked the leadership or the character or the spirit on the pitch.

"But you've always liked the football.

"I don't even like the football any more. The last bastion has gone. Liverpool, Spurs, City - they all play better football than Arsenal now.

"Chelsea and United are stronger physically and mentally.

"This is a dark, dark day. They've just not shown up.

"Not just to play so badly but to not turn up is desperately disappointing. They've been pathetic. It's been a rubbish performance."

Neville added after Silva scored the third goal: "Forget Arsenal for a minute, they are a disgrace. I mentioned the walking of the Arsenal players.

"The retreating runs of Xhaka and (Jack) Wilshere. They were ambling. It's a disgrace."

Re: Gary Neville
i think his knowledge of the game is great as it was today but everyone knows City are twice as good as Arsenal and i guess you don't get to a cup final and try and play shit or just don't bother on purpose. Yeah they were not good enough but i just feel calling them disgusting time and time again is OTP for a TV commentator.

Re: Gary Neville
I generally browse on here these days, but I've taken the bother of logging in to respond here claret. I'm not keen on Arsenal, and wanted Man City to win, but Neville was an utter cunt today. Firstly, the most biased commentary I'd heard in a while, then secondly the nastiest and most snidey. He's obviously got a fucking massive issue with Arsenal, and came across as a bitter little twat today.

Re: Gary Neville
He gave Arnautovic a similar serve after the home game v Brighton
Which was probably the best thing that could have happened in our season.
We would be down already without that turnaround

Re: Gary Neville
Hang on he's United.... why the fuck would he want City to win??

To be fair he called it right... there's losing and busting a gut and there's losing and not giving a fuck... they was strolling... he saw it and called it...

Re: Gary Neville
From what I saw of the feature on it his criticism was for players walking and looking half hearted
Man City have better players but he was implying Arsenal were weak and weren’t trying hard enough
The defending for the first goal was laughably soft

Re: Gary Neville
"Hang on he's United.... why the fuck would he want City to win??"

That's the whole point Sold - it doesn't make sense. It's irrational.

Let's take the first incident as a point of reference. Aguero looked up, repositioned himself, nudged the lad, which put him off balance, and went on to score. Yes, the defender should have been stronger, and it's a contact sport. But it wasn't an irrelevant or consequential contact, Aguero knew exactly what he was doing. Without the push, he wouldn't have been away on goal.

Look, I'm 50/50 as to whether it was a foul, but the attitude and cuntishness of Neville in his assessment was fucking ridiculous and it just grew from there. I don't hear him much but he had a bad day today.

Re: Gary Neville
My two arsenal mates made him 100% right.

They were embarrassed by the effort some of their players put in.

Whatever you think of Neville, he always gave his all in every game, so probably expects other players to do the same, especially in a cup final.

Gutted there aren't more like him still playing for England.

Re: Gary Neville
Neville is a cunt and not a particularly good pundit either. I can only think something happened when he played against Arsenal meaning he holds a grudge.

Re: Gary Neville
I thought he had a point. Theybwaste a disgrace. His best comment was that Arsenal used to be so many things that a neutral liked but that in the end all that was left was entertaining football, and that they don't even do that anymore.

Mart O 12:14 Mon Feb 26
Re: Gary Neville
Fuck all that, Arsenal got spanked. Claude has finally concluded that they're not a big club anymore and is hopefully going to leather that silly cunt Ty.

Re: Gary Neville
I got the feeling that he was pissed off about Man City winning as much as anything and was angry at Arsenal for letting it happen so easily.

Re: Gary Neville
Neville played exclusively for SirFerg. He knows that his gaffer would not, at all, have put up with the sort of performances that Arsenal’s players have been serving up all too often this season.

I get his drift and Arsenal’s league position is indicative of how they’ve slipped in recent seasons.

Jaan Kenbrovin 12:36 Mon Feb 26
Re: Gary Neville
I think he is right that Arsenal aren't the same quality they have been for the last 20 odd years, but at the same time Man City are almost 30 points better off than them for a reason too.

For a club like Arsenal to make a fourth cup final in 5 years and lose 3-0 to a team that have spent 750m in the that time, and are now 13 points clear in the league with a game in hand, it's no disgrace from Arsenal's players. Man City only had 3 shots on target all match too.
